My journey with Homoeopathy
Happily married with 2 children, I originally started my career by studying a Bachelor of Economics with an Accounting major.
In my early 40s I became quite ill with some very mysterious symptoms. I went through 2 years of conventional medical exploration which included numerous blood test, ultrasounds, CAT scans, MRIs and many specialists. In the end all they could tell me was that the test results showed I was not well, and one specialist said that they were sure I was going to develop one of three serious conditions, but until the disease progressed further, and they could give it a name, they could not treat me for it. During this process a friend introduced me to Homoeopathy.
I started seeing a homoeopath, and although it was not the first remedy, when I did take the right one I experienced a major improvement in a short period of time*. That was it, I was hooked. I went on to study a four year course in Homoeopathy, qualifying and registering as a Classical Homoeopath in 2008. I am registered with the Australian Register of Homoeopaths Ltd. and I am a member of the Australian Homoeopathic Association. I have since had the opportunity to be of assistance to people who have been in a similar situations to myself, and I have developed a special interest in Fibromyalgia.
Who I see and what conditions Homoeopathy can be helpful with
Homeopathy is a very individualised process with an individualised outcome. It can be helpful with many types of mental, emotional and physical conditions. I have seen women who are lacking energy and motivation, who are experiencing mood fluctuations, anxiety and sleep disorders at one end of the scale and more chronic conditions at the other end of the scale. I am happy to work in conjunction with your other health providers and I never ask you to go off any medication, that is between you and your doctor. The homeopathic remedy will not affect your medical treatment, but will work in conjunction with it as they are working on different levels.
I have the utmost respect for all doctors and they do wonderful work, unfortunately until symptoms have developed enough to make a diagnosis, patients are often left with symptoms that don't appear to be explainable. Homoeopathy, on the other hand, is an energetic medicine which is helpful when a condition is still at the functional stage, and can be useful in bringing a person back into balance, facilitating the innate healing powers of the body. In fact, for this reason, homoeopaths don't make claims about treatment outcomes as the response and timing is individual to each person. If you do have a medical diagnosis, as mentioned, homoeopathy can be used in conjunction with conventional treatment and being non-toxic energy medicine, does not interfere with treatment.
If after discussing your case with you I feel you will be better helped, or additionally helped, by another practitioner e.g. doctor or physical therapist, I will be honest with you and refer you on.
I work on a part time basis which means I'm often not available for acute conditions such as colds and flus. I generally see adult women for more chronic complaints**.
Warmest regards,
Mel
*Please note: everyone's response is different, I was fortunate to have experienced such a quick turn around but your response would be individual to you.
